Scholarships offered to students from many sources. Some are offered from local groups and organization, others are offered through state and national programs that target specific populations or career choices. The college or university you are applying to will also offer scholarships that are unique to that school. Check out each school's website to see more details about scholarship programs.

Aspirations in Computing Award

It’s Aspirations in Computing Award application time!  It is time for our young ladies in Southwest Florida to submit their applications for the Aspirations in Computing Award for the 2016-2017 award cycle!  Hodges University is proudly hosting the 4th Annual Aspirations in Computing Award Banquet for our local winners in the Southwest Florida Region. I am excited to be a part of this process and to be able to personally meet and support so many of our bright young women attending our high schools throughout our Southwest Florida community.

Last year’s award ceremony truly showcased how this program touches the lives of so many of our young women and how NCWIT (the National Center for Women & Information Technology | continues to provide these young women with great opportunities and connections, both locally and nationwide. Last year we awarded 42 talented young women from the South Florida Region with beautiful glass carved awards and prize packages.

Please remember that each winner receives two beautiful awards – one to keep and one to display at her high school! How many Aspirations in Computing Awards does Mariner High School currently have on display? Let’s work on raising that number!

Please join with me to get this information out to your high school students so that they too may participate in this truly life changing opportunity!

Applications for the Aspirations in Computing Award are now being accepted through November 7th. This award does not cost anything – it is FREE for students to apply and win! Students may access the application at I am personally available to visit your school, if you would like to engage your young women in a meet and greet where we can cover the application process and get those that are interested started on their application submission. Please just email me ( or call me (239-938-7779) to set up a convenient time.

Again, there is no cost involved with applying for or winning this award. It is a great opportunity for our local young women to be recognized and awarded for their accomplishments within technology and leadership!
